Job Description:
Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing refurbishment Contracts
My client are a market leading contractor specialising in the refurbishment and construction of social housing, education and public buildings. The company is on a massive and exciting growth path, expanding all its operating regions, leading to new positions and a wealth of career development opportunities for employees.
They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to be site based in the Staffordshire area. You will be reporting directly to the Managing QS and Commercial Manager and will be responsible for managing a large decent homes contract, works include kitchen and bathroom replacements, rewires, central heating upgrades along with external works (roofing, windows/.doors, etc).
Key accountabilities:
" Profit - reconcile cost/value reports, reconcile profit forecasts, provide feedback on any deviation from costs bills and control all expenditure " Valuation/Finance - compile valuations with PQS, record and price variations, maximize external valuations and fully recover any losses, prepare internal valuations to determine accurate costs reports, measure works accurately, prepare and accurately forecast Final Accounts " Sub contract control - accurately value sub contracts works, prepare subcontract liability statements, ensure compliance with subcontractor conditions, minute sub contract meetings, agree final accounts, recover any losses " Legal/Contractual - ensure compliance with contract conditions " Quality Assurance - ensure compliance with QA procedures and audit QA procedures " Training and developing any Junior staff
To qualify for this role you MUST have experience working on social housing refurbishment contracts through frameworks agreements and partnering schemes. You will have main building contractor experience with the understanding of building contracts including JCT forms of contracts and NEC frameworks. You must be confident and professional when dealing with clients and show a high degree of business and commercial acumen.
